about

POST MODEM is the collected lost tracks by Am I Wrong, an instrumental rock band from Ashland, Oregon. Recorded between 2011-2014, here you will find demos, one-offs, live recordings, and unreleased (failed) attempts at recording a full length.

Am I Wrong was characterized by a start-stop dynamic, experimental song structure, extended improvised segments, and a tendency to contrast between aggressively sloppy and unexpectedly precise. The band gained a reputation around small town Ashland for their warped and ever-changing tunes, use of pedals, trash cymbals, and samples in their live sets, and a tendency to make a lot of noise in clothing stores, public parks and the usual run of dive bars and house shows. Over eight years Am I Wrong played upwards of a hundred shows in and around Southern Oregon, but were unable to secure the resources to record a full length LP. These songs represent the later stages of the band as they began to move away from deliberate provocation and counterintuitive turns in the music towards a pedal-pop verse/chorus style of songwriting.

All tracks written and performed by Cory Rohr and Arlo Brooks.

Album art is by Molly Spear.

Tracks 1, 2, 6, and 7 were recorded for an unreleased EP at Southern Oregon University by Blake Helmken in 2014. Tracks 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10 were demo'd in Cory’s Room in Ashland, OR by Cory Rohr in 2011. Track 4 was recorded live at KRFH in Arcata, CA by Kobe Dupree in 2013. Track 11 was recorded live at a house party in Ashland, OR by Marc Helou in 2012.

SPECIALEST THANKS goes to YOU for reading this far and using your valuable time to check out our tunes.

EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to Jesse Eells-Adams and Mem Pahl, who played lead guitar and bass respectively in Am I Wrong at some point but are sadly not featured on these recordings.

SPECIAL THANKS to Carley Beilfuss, Jeny Lee, Emery Way, Father Doug, Grady Gannon, Kobe Dupree, Scott Garriott, Jamey Strathman, The Fox and Bear Band, Nathan Staplegun, Rax King, Jacob Sykes, Molly Spear, Cat Tatt, Carly Eichhorn, Dylan Lavine, Sarah Mues, Bridget Sarita, Hannah Howell, Fluke Morgan, Riley McAdoo, Marc Helou, Clarissa Ames, Fuck!
